Privacy notice
Last updated: 23 October 2026
ShiftFed is a simple website. You can read it without an account, and we collect as little information as possible.
Who we are
ShiftFed (shiftfed.com) is responsible for the personal information described here (the "data controller" under UK data protection law).
[CJ: add owner name/details and AI-image note]
What the website does
- No accounts, forms or sign-ups. There is nothing to log in to and nothing to fill in.
- No cookies. ShiftFed does not set cookies, for tracking or anything else.
- No analytics or tracking. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
- No third-party requests. Fonts, icons and images are served from our own server, so reading a page does not contact other companies.
- The shift planner runs in your browser. The times you enter are not sent to us.
- No sales yet. Our guide is not on sale, so we do not take payments or collect payment details.
Server logs
Like almost every website, our web server (nginx) keeps standard technical logs of requests: your IP address, the date and time, the page asked for, and your browser's description of itself. We use them only to keep the site secure and working, for example to spot attacks or fix errors. We do not use them to build a profile of you or share them with anyone. Our legal basis is legitimate interests (keeping the website running safely).
Links to other websites
ShiftFed links to other sites, such as the NHS, GOV.UK, Acas and charities. When you visit them, their own privacy notices apply.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete personal information about you, and you can object to how it is used. Because ShiftFed has no accounts, the only personal information we hold is in the server logs described above. If you are unhappy with how your data is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Changes
If what the website does changes (for example, when the guide goes on sale), we will update this notice first and change the date at the top.
